August Exhuastion
Saturday, August 9th, 2008We’re slow on updates this month. It’s just too hot. But this isn’t slowing Indie down.
She’s sprinkling pixie dust on the garden to make it grow
Enjoying picking out her own outfits and finding new uses for her books
Playing OctoTunes
Getting up on all fours
And…sprouting two bottom teeth. It’s been a busy month so far.
Sink or Swim
Tuesday, July 15th, 2008I read somewhere that infants have the ability to hold their breath under water and kick their legs. So can they swim? Not really, but it probably looks like they can. As you can see, I didn”t take any chances with Indie this weekend when we visited my parents. Sunscreen, hat, swim shirt, turtle raft with shade. Yes, all of the above.
We looked for koi fish in the pond
Summer…
even though she was a bit cranky and drooling and cutting two teeth, it was Summer…ahh…Summer

For all the Moms
Sunday, May 11th, 2008Happy Mother’s Day. Readers may throw rotten tomatoes if I wax too philosophical and sentimental again so soon following my recent entry about the blog’s one year anniversary or the Embracing the Role of Mom entry. So here’s a shorty. Happy day to all the moms out there. I’m seeing you in a whole new light.
Happy Blogaversary
Friday, May 2nd, 2008It’s been one year since we started this blog. A year ago, I learned that I was pregnant.

A year ago when our world just started turning upside down. It’s been an amazing, life-changing, scary, wild and wonderful ride. And for this impatient momma, it was well worth the wait to finally meet Indira. Pregnancy seems endless some days but it’s over before you know it and now we’re elbow deep in baby clothes that’s she’s already outgrown and full of a new perspective on being parents, the new meaning of sleep, and a deep sense of satisfaction at the end of the day that we made it through, managed to get laundry washed and dinner made and got the baby to sleep before 9PM. As I said in the recovery room looking at Indira as if she mysteriously appeared out of thin air, “I can’t believe we made a person.” But now, she’s as much part of the household as if she’d always been here.
Happy Anniversary.
We Don’t Have Video Yet…

The booties on her feet are part of the Pavlik harness, which is holding her leg at an angle while she outgrows hip dysplasia. It’s very common in first borns, girls and babies who are breech. It doesn’t bother her a bit, as you can see from her kicks, and she’ll bet rid of her baby lederhosen soon enough.
