Going Viral

Thursday, May 14th, 2009

Oh how I wish this were a “viral” marketing message rather than about my spotted dotted toddler. This has been a month of irritations. Of the skin variety. Of the sleep variety. Of the what IS that?, variety. Plus teething. Her molars. This reminds me of when my wisdom teeth started crowding my teeth and YEOW.

Vaccinations, reactions to pollen and now a mysterious virus have brought me to the doctor for three times in the past three weeks. Throw in eight straight days of rain and we’re all going WAAA. Then because she’s not feeling well I broke my rule of no B-O-T-T-L-E-S to make sure she’s getting enough fluids. I suspect that she’s spelling already though because after I was spelling it out to Jake in conversation she asked for it by name, as if on cue. Other words she’s saying are ice cube, hat, yellow, doggie, kit cat, hair, shoe, and NO.

In the middle of all of this we decided to refinance the house (which means getting the house appraised) so this morning, while trying to keep the house clean with Indie at home, I tried to vacuum. Indie was not a fan of this and wanted to be picked up. Yes, it really is that hard vacuuming while carrying 25 lbs on your hip. But I’m getting stronger!

Let’s Get Gardening

Friday, May 1st, 2009

One great way for kids to learn about healthy eating and where food comes from is to help mom in the garden.

Indira directed me while I planted two types of tomatoes, zucchini squash, bell pepper, strawberries and resurrected rosemary from last season. Her word of the week is flowers (sounds like frowers).

And some flowers
