About My Geek Baby
My Geek Baby is a blog for parents and their smart babies. This site is not dedicated to all aspects of parenting, so a topic such as “the poop on potty training” may be covered but don’t expect us to advise you about stroller types or to debate about mommies who work outside the home versus mommies who work from home; we’re here to talk technology, science, learning, and whatever strikes our fancy.
If you’d like to advertise with or would like to trade links, we’d love to hear from you. Let us know at mygeekbaby@yahoo.com
Who is behind My Geek Baby? Jake, a network engineer/Linux aficionado and, Lauren, a managing editor for a magazine for cancer doctors.
Here we are:

(Fewer than 100 things about me)
From: the beachy part of southern NJ; Jake’s a Cincy boy
Places I wished I visited before I had kids: San Fransisco, Prague, South America
Aunt: Near 20 nieces/nephews between Jake’s and my family
Oldest, middle or youngest: Youngest of five; Jake’s the youngest of four - consequently we both want it “my” way
While pregnant I’m craving or craved: peaches, thin-sliced swiss cheese, pizza, Orangina, more ice cream than is polite to mention, Hebrew National hot dogs
Things that made me gag: coffee, feeding the cats their dried cat food, smoke, new clothes smell, kitchen at work
What I love about babies: gummy smiles
What I don’t: projectile body fluids
First rock shows: Beach Boys, Sonic Youth
Industries I have written for: continuing education, association management, immigration, television technology, cancer non-profit
Hobbies: spelling words, reading books, giving unsolicited advice
During college I thought my future would be: recreating the journalistic hijinx of Hunter S. Thompson
I’m either: hard of hearing or easily distracted; either way I don’t know what you just said
